Mock Interview

Interview preparation for the job you want

Good interview preparation connects what the company needs with what you can honestly bring to the role. Understand the opportunity, choose relevant examples, and make sure the practical details will not distract you on the day.

Research the company and your career fit

Understand the business and its position

Read the company’s product pages, public announcements, and credible industry coverage. Identify its customers, competitors, and the problems its products or services address. Separate published facts from your own interpretation.

Look at direction and financial context

Review recent developments and, where available, financial reports or funding announcements. Note what is public and what remains unknown. A private company may not disclose enough information for a confident financial conclusion.

Consider the working environment

Compare recent employee feedback across sources. Look for recurring themes about management, workload, development, and working arrangements, while considering the location, team, and date of each review.

Connect the role to your goals

Consider the responsibilities, learning opportunities, and scope of the job. Decide how they fit your next career step and which trade-offs matter to you.

Match your experience to the role

Identify the responsibilities and skills that appear most important in the job description. For each, choose a genuine example from work, study, volunteering, or independent projects.

Note the context, your contribution, the decisions you made, and an outcome you can support. If you lack a particular kind of experience, describe relevant learning or transferable work accurately rather than presenting it as something you have already done.

Prepare for different question types

Behavioral questions

Be ready to describe a disagreement, mistake, difficult priority, or result you influenced. Explain your own actions and what you learned, not only what the team achieved.

Technical questions

Review the fundamentals needed for the role. Practice explaining assumptions, methods, and trade-offs. This service supports verbal or written explanations; it is not an environment for executing or grading code.

Situational questions

Work through how you would handle incomplete information, competing goals, or an unfamiliar problem. Explain what you would clarify before deciding what to do.

Motivation and salary discussions

Prepare an honest explanation of why the role fits your goals. For compensation, research the level, location, and total package, and distinguish a considered range from a guaranteed market rate.

Check the practical details

Confirm the interview time, time zone, format, and meeting location or link. For a video call, check your microphone, connection, and equipment. For an in-person meeting, plan your route and arrival time.

Keep your resume and a small set of useful notes accessible. If you need an accommodation or a format clarification, contact the recruiter in advance and share only what is necessary.

Tailor your resume to the role

Make the most relevant skills, projects, and outcomes easy to find. Use the job description’s terminology only where it accurately describes your experience. Keep dates, qualifications, and results factual.

Pro resume review compares how your resume presents your experience with the target job, with feedback and suggested rewrites to strengthen relevant evidence.
